Dear Participant,
Thank you for your interest in taking part in this research study. In the following document, we provide information about the goals, procedures, and conditions of the study entitled “Views and Opinions on Intelligent Systems in Clinical Evaluation for Autism.”
This study is conducted by the University Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Ludwig Maximilians Universität München (LMU Munich), under the lead of Dr Hadassah Büchner (MD) and in collaboration with Dr Marta Robles.
Please read the following information carefully before deciding whether or not to participate.
Your participation is entirely voluntary.
Goal of the Study
The aim of this study is to explore opinions, attitudes, and expectations concerning the use of machine learning approaches in the diagnostic process of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The findings will contribute to academic research and may help inform the responsible development and future implementation of such technologies in clinical practice.
Study Process
If you agree to participate, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire. The questionnaire contains questions about your views on diagnostic processes and the use of machine learning in healthcare, particularly in relation to autism spectrum disorder.
Completion of the questionnaire will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Participation involves no medical examination, intervention, or treatment. You may skip individual questions if you prefer not to answer them.
Reimbursement
There is no financial reimbursement for participation in this study. However, if you wish, you may voluntarily enter a raffle to win one of five, 50€ vouchers. For participants in the UK, this will be converted to the £50. Participation in the raffle is optional and independent of your survey responses.
Data Processing and Data Protection
All data collected in this study will be handled confidentially and in accordance with applicable data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Participation in the survey is anonymous.
• No directly identifiable personal data will be collected as part of the questionnaire.
• Survey data will be stored securely on LMU approved systems and will be used exclusively for scientific research purposes.
• Data will be analysed only in aggregated form, ensuring that no individual participant can be identified.
If contact details are provided for participation in the raffle, these will be stored separately from the questionnaire data and deleted after the raffle has been conducted.
Risk–Benefit Analysis
Participation in this study involves no foreseeable risks. Some participants may benefit indirectly by contributing to research aimed at improving diagnostic approaches and care for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. There is no direct personal benefit associated with participation, apart from the chance to win a voucher.
Data Usage Notice
No personal data will be requested from you. Please do not provide any personal or personally identifiable information. This survey has been configured as an anonymous survey.
This means that in the survey database’s “Data Table” there is no record of who, when, or from where the survey was accessed or responses were submitted.
